Carl is an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist with over a decade of experience in the Victorian legal system. He takes a calm, client-focused approach and gives clear, practical advice, particularly when a matter is stressful or complex.

Carl holds a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law, where he also undertook the Advocacy Program. Courtroom advocacy has been central to his practice since.

Throughout his career, Carl has acted for clients across a wide range of legal areas, including criminal law, traffic offences, family law, civil disputes, and intervention order proceedings. Before establishing Paterson Finch Legal, Carl gained courtroom experience at general practice firms. He started his own practice to offer more personal, attentive and accessible service.
